Cats that mark their territory with facial rubbing indicate they are happy and comfortable in their environment. Cats under stress are more likely to mark their territory with scratching or urine spraying, not facial rubbing. FELIWAY can provide your cat comfort and calming at home. It mimics the feline facial pheromones (F3) used by cats to mark their territory as safe and secure.Cats don't want to scratch or urinate where they detect the facial feline pheromone.

The diffuser works by using a heating element to disperse the pheromone into the air. Once the pheromone is present, the pet breathes it in, and the pheromone attaches to a receptive organ called the vomeronasal organ located in the nasal cavity. The vomeronasal organ then signals the brain, via nerves, and a sense of well-being is established.

The FELIWAY Diffuser provides your cat constant comfort and calming at home for up to 30 days. It is 90% effective in reducing or eliminating scratching and peeing outside the litter box. A significant reduction in these behaviors is usually seen within seven days. If your cat is marking in several areas of the same room, use a FELIWAY Diffuser in that room. It covers up to 700 square feet. Use the diffuser for at least 30 days. FELIWAY is not a drug. It is a non-sedating, non-systemic, and has no known contraindications with any other treatment.

Please Note: One diffuser will cover up to 700 sq. ft. in an open floor plan. The diffuser will not diffuse the pheromone outside of any given room though. Given the size, floor plan, and where the cat spends the most time, you should consider getting more than one diffuser.
